TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -
Brandy Wallace and her family are trying to figure out how a call for help ended with her brother fighting for his life.
Wallace, who identified her brother as 39-year-old Judvis Wallace, said he was shot twice in the neck and in the head.
She said her brother suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and she called police Saturday to get him help.
"I called police and told them to bring North Harbor because he was off his medication. When police arrived, I told them he was off his medication and he needed to go to North Harbor," said Wallace.
She said things quickly changed when police arrived. "It turned chaotic and gun shots were fired,” continued Wallace.
Tuscaloosa Police say they were called to a home for a domestic situation and during the investigation officers noticed the suspect was armed with something.
