Juneteenth in a nut shell is the day the Last slaves in America were Freed- June 19th. In 1863 Abraham Lincoln officially freed the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation. However, the Hicks in Texas never told their slaves this so Slavery in Texas went on for another 2 years. In fact, Slavery in Texas continued for 2 Months and 10 days after General Robert E. Lee and the Doomed to Failure from the start Southern forces surrendered to the Union.
Boy these hicks are sure determined aren't they? Even today the Hicks with their Racism and insolence have essentially started a Second Civil War. The first Civil War was of course about Race and Slavery- even though Conservative history Revisionists want to make it about Taxes and States Rights. Oh yeah it was about Taxes and States Rights alright- Slave Taxes and the Right for States to own Slaves. Like the first Civil War the Second Civil War that's gaining momentum today is also about Race, Taxes, and States Rights. America continues to disrespect Blacks and see Blacks as a Race that should always have an inferior position, and the Hicks who want Blacks in an Inferior position forever are also doomed to failure like the Hicks in the First American Civil War. Like the Global Elite's prison industrial complex of today in which many of these Satanic hicks profit off of (get the crumbs from the table of the real owners), Lehman Brothers meant Slavery of da Brothas, and the Middle American Whites who are on the side of the Hicks are just doing the bidding of the one percenters. The one Percenter Global Financial Oligarchs have always benefited off of Black Suffering, and America's still unwritten Racial Caste system today.
This is of course why the Global Elite Families and their One Percenter Companies Owe Blacks Reparations.
Should Juneteemth be a National Holiday- Another day off?
For me growing up in the Northeast Juneteenth celebrations were rarely held, and by a small Minority of Blacks. Junteenth was mainly considered, and for some Blacks still is considered a strictly Southern Holiday. However, Juneteenth is becoming more and more mainstream by the year, and observance of this Holiday is spreading not just in America but Globally as well.
Another day off from the monotony of American Labor would be nice for the masses, and it would be for a good cause too. Juneteenth surely is an African American Independence Holiday, however, it is about the story of not just Black Slavery. Juneteenth is the story about low the Masters of American labor lie to their man and maid servants to their own ends. It's a reminder for all people regardless of Race to not only be watchful of their personal employers, but to be watchful of the power elite's on top who want to hold back development and progress for their own means.
Besides, it's just another excuse to go swimming, Grill some sweet BBQ, and more.
At the end of the day, Juneteenth should be a National Holiday.
As in previous years, President Obama did not issue a Presidential Proclamation establishing Juneteenth as a national day of observance, but just another impersonal annual Juneteenth statement. Juneteenth has never been celebrated at the White House and President Obama has yet to speak to the public about the significance of Juneteenth Independence Day in America.
ReplyDeleteThe White House and the U.S. Capitol were built by Americans of African descent during the tyranny of enslavement. President Obama should host a White House Juneteenth reception to honor their sacrifice.
However, thanks for supporting, writing and reporting on Juneteenth. Most importantly, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX) has introduced legislation to make Juneteenth Independence Day a National Day of Observance, like Flag Day and Patriot Day.
We urge President Obama to do the right thing and join the U.S. Congress to establish Juneteenth Independence Day as a National Day of Observance in America.
Together we will see Juneteenth become a national holiday in America!

Juneteenth is America’s 2nd Independence Day celebration. Americans of African descent were trapped in the tyranny of enslavement on the country’s first “4th of July”, 1776, Independence Day.
ReplyDeleteIt took over 88 years for the news of freedom to be announced in Southwest Texas, the last southern state in rebellion during the Civil War, where enslavement was allowed, over two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued by President Lincoln. The dynamic leadership of abolitionist Frederick Douglass was very important to the ending of enslavement in America.
41 states recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or state holiday observance, the District of Columbia, as well as the Congress of the United States. On the “19th of June”, 2012, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX), sponsored legislation in the U.S. Senate to make Juneteenth Independence Day a National Day of Observance in America.
We join our ancestors, Americans of African descent, in the celebration of the announcement of freedom, on the "19th of June", Juneteenth. It was the 13th Amendment passed by the U.S. Congress on December 6, 1865, and signed by the Secretary of State on December 18, 1865, that was the legal action that ended enslavement in America.
The "Modern Juneteenth Movement" recognizes and supports Juneteenth as our National Freedom Day, when we come together as Americans to celebrate freedom from enslavement in the nation.
The "19th of June" and the "4th of July" completes the cycle of Independence Day celebrations in America. You can not celebrate freedom in America without both days.
Together we will see Juneteenth become a national holiday observance in America!
